Our Candles
What goes in. How it is made. Where to learn the rest.
What Every Stāndle Candle Contains
Four materials. No fillers. No shortcuts.
100% Natural Soy Wax — Sourced from U.S.-grown soybeans. No paraffin, no blended wax, no petroleum derivatives. Soy wax burns at a lower temperature than paraffin, so the fragrance diffuses slowly and consistently, preserving the top-to-base structure of the scent rather than releasing everything at once.

Phthalate-Free Fragrance Oil — Phthalates are plasticizers used in some fragrance oils to help scent bind to wax. All Stāndle fragrance oils are formulated without them. How the three-layer compositions are built is its own story: read about our fragrance.

Lead-Free Cotton Core Wick — A single wick per candle, made from unbleached cotton with a cotton core. No lead, no zinc, no metal. Trimmed to ¼ inch before every burn, it produces minimal soot and a stable, even flame.
Hand-Cast Dual-Tone Concrete Vessel — The vessel is not packaging; it is the other half of the object. Hand-cast, deliberately heavy, heat-stable, and designed to be kept after the final burn. The design decisions behind it: read about the vessel.

How It Is Made
Four steps. Measured and repeated for every candle.
Step 1 — Ingredients 100% soy wax and phthalate-free fragrance oil, sourced and measured before production begins. Both Lavendure 21 and Sandalure 18 use botanical compositions built in three layers — top, heart, base — blended to ratios that determine how the fragrance evolves during the burn.
Step 2 — Melt and Blend The soy wax is melted to a precise temperature — high enough to fully incorporate the fragrance oil, low enough to preserve the integrity of the botanical compounds. The fragrance is added and blended thoroughly before the wax begins to cool.

Step 3 — Pour The scented wax is hand-poured into the concrete vessels with the cotton wick centered and held in place. Hand-pouring allows control over fill level and surface finish. Each candle is poured individually.
Step 4 — Cure and Finish The candles cure for over 24 hours before wicks are trimmed and candles are inspected. Soy wax needs time to fully bind with the fragrance oil — the cure period is what ensures consistent scent throw from the first burn through the last.
Burning It Right — The Essentials
Three rules do most of the work. On the first burn, let the melt pool reach the edges of the vessel — 2 to 4 hours — so the wax memory sets correctly. Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every relight. Stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains at the base.
One note specific to Sandalure 18: the sandalwood and patchouli base deepens noticeably from the second burn onward. The first burn establishes the melt pool; the second and third are where the base fully settles in.

The Two Candles
Lavendure 21 — For rooms that need to breathe.
Black currant, lemon, and orange open bright and brief. True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), eucalyptus, and fir needle carry the heart. Warm amber and oakmoss absolute anchor the base — what the room smells like after the candle is out.

Sandalure 18 — For rooms that need to settle.
Dry cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper open warm, not sweet. Geranium Bourbon and clove carry the heart — the note most people can't name but won't stop smelling. Sandalwood, aged patchouli, and Madagascar vanilla close the arc.
